No the US  have been dupped...it wasn't technically their fault. The Federal Reserve machinery led them down this path knowingly allowed the bubble to increase. There have been many points at which they could have stepped in and saved their economy from exploding. sorry I disagree on that one\blame Rome. The Federal reserve is a private body or club not beholden the the US governement..it takes its orders from the Old Lady Of Threadneedle Street [UK] ..the Bank of England... a Rothschild entity, the Vatican bankers doncha know. Now their's a piece of history for ya. The Bank of England influences all Central Banks all around the world and their policies.
Ever heard of the "Nuclear Option"..its the option that I believe that China will take. Coined by an economic genius of sorts " Ambrose Pritchard. Look it up when you get a chance. China was allowed to hold on to the American debt, to wait for it to go bust, then drop the treasuries, a sell off causing other countries to do so BTW. A run on the dollar in effect and a rush to gold. All predicted by Ambrose back in the 90's. That guy has my attention!
When the Carbon Tax\Carbon Credits becomes a reality doubled with a new world currency we will see a new economic and financial global architecture put in place .This will be the final crush on the USA, not a war as such, and yes China will become the global enforcers, militarily, economically and politically. They have been mentored by Rome for this very outcome...years in the making BTW. This going back more years than I care to discuss at this time , it will make your head spin I'm sure.
