The previous Cold War was only prevented from becoming a hot one by the simple concept of M.A.D. (Mutually Assured Destruction). Coupled with a strong and determined Nato with forces in Europe to act as a buffer it would have been shear insanity to contemplate escalating a Cold War into a hot one.

All of that has changed.

America has dismantled many of its nukes, Nato is considered (by some) to be no longer necessary and the troops in Europe have largely been withdrawn. The leader of the west (America) is on its way down although it is not quite out of the picture yet and the East and Europe are all rising rapidly. (Watch Europe in all this!). The next war of global significance wont be cold but very hot and will probably begin insignificantly enough but will likely build to a crescendo. (IMHO)
