I think after much deliberation, and to my mothers eternal shame, i have become apolitical........meaning i neither care who gets in power or support a particular party...now don't get me wrong i absolutely hate the left.....with an all consuming passion.....but the extreme left is just an annoyance.....they will never form government in Canada.......my family is very good friends with Harper personally..........he, and several of his past ministers have stayed in (my mothers) home at various times over the years......she eats, breathes and sleeps being a conservative and is well known in the party as she was instrumental in the formation of the Reform party.....
i think the main reason i've reached this conclusion is that there really is very little difference in approach by either mainstream party......liberals are liberals and conservatives are liberals......and as that is not likely to change anytime soon......what difference does it make.......i still think Harper is the far superior leader of the group but their are few or no conservative policies coming out of Ottawa these days....
i think i made the decision some time ago to just worry about me and my family and let all the other baggage go...after all that is really all we can control......our own destiny
Your thoughts pretty much mirror my own. I don`t see a great deal of difference between the Grits and Tories. I also believe that if by some miracle the NDP became the governing party they would quickly move to the centre or risk becoming permanent opposition like their provincial counterparts in Ontario. Having said that, I also hate the left in Western countries. The ruinous policies/burdens they have forced on their populations are the reason the West is teetering on bankruptcy. I do care about policies and their effects on us. Politics though.......not so much!
