No. the Red Ensign was replaced many years ago. All vets everywhere owe their allegiance to the official Flag of Canada despite the whining of a single desperate bleeding heart. The Red Ensign, while not the official flag still is represented to some degree on various provincial flags. I've been a legion member for many years and have attended many Remembrance Day Ceremonies all over this country. I have yet to meet a vet that moans and drips over the replacement of the RE by the Flag of Canada. Anyone who says that the RE is the flag of choice by vets is simply not telling you the truth and does not know what he is talking about.
Scotland Yard says some things that may make Newbies here think otherwise. He has never been a member of the Canadian Navy, Army or Airforce in any capacity and is not a Royal Canadian Legion member (and never could be with some of the asinine beliefs that he has been all too voiciferous about at Memebee). How would he be expected to know things that he has never exposed himself to?
Thanks for clearing that up Matlock. You mentioned some provincial governments still incorporating it which is why I thought perhaps the Royal Canadian Legion might still use it alongside the Maple Leaf. Again, please forgive my complete ignorance. I have never been inside a Legion branch in my life.
It`s Remeberance Day today and I`d like to take this opportunity to thank you personally for your service as a veternan. It`s too bad we only take one day per year to show our gratitude for the sacrifices you have made for all of us.
THANK YOU AND WE WILL NEVER FORGET!!
